I've identified the best stations for my target area; where do I get radios?

What are the purposes of this site?

Huge efforts and resources over many decades have gone into creating a Gospel radio presence in many parts of the world. Not as much effort has been invested in making that presence easily discoverable, and perhaps, in optimizing station locations and languages.

Our goal is two-fold:
  • Quickly identify -- for any location and language combination -- the best Gospel radio resources. This is a particularly critical need for ministries desiring to provide radios for evangelism or discipleship in remote locations.
  • Assist radio ministries by visually exposing needy locations, or alternately, locations where duplicated effort might be more effectively redirected.

How do you determine whether to include a station?

Our desire is to include any radio station that is:
  • Gospel-centric in its programming
  • In fundamental agreement with the Apostles Creed
  • Free from prosperity teaching and cults of personality

Our emphasis is on stations outside the US.

How do I filter this list by country or ministry?

In the station table, click on a ministry partner name or country name to bring up a filtered table. Then click the ''Show map'' link.

    How is this list maintained?

Our vision is that most information would be updated by individual station owners or multi-station radio ministries. We also welcome editing by other interested volunteers or listeners. Contact us!

Can my ministry display your list/map of our stations?

Absolutely! Just provide a link from your site to the appropriate page on our site.

We are also open to incorporating views directly in other ministry websites; contact us about programming this.

Are you open to developing this site further with other ministries?

Absolutely! You may have requirements that we haven't considered. Contact us.

How do I submit corrections or suggest a new station?

There are links on the map page to submit a new station or corrections to an existing station. You can also email us directly.

How is a station's coverage estimated?

Our algorithm estimates a station's daytime coverage radius based on frequency and band. We welcome improvements in this estimate! The station owner is free to supply a more accurate radius.

Obviously, a circle is a gross approximation, distorted by topography, water, antenna design, and other factors. The station owner is also free to supply a lat/lon polygon that more closely approximates coverage.

How do I create a station coverage polygon?

You are free to enter the estimated coverage perimeter as a series of comma-separated lat/lon coordinates in our station form (i.e., lat1,lon1,lat2,lon2,lat3,lon3). The system will automatically close the polygon.

You can do this manually by:
  • Look up several known reception areas in Google Maps
  • For each, add the comma-delimited lat/lon to our station form.

To do this graphically, one method is to:
  • Create a custom region over a map in a Google account.
  • Export this kmx file to a text editor (like WordPad)
  • Find and copy the lat/lon pairs into our station form.

How do you handle location-sensitive stations or those with unpublished frequencies?

We'd like to hear from you about the best way to obscure sensitive information, while still making it available to those for whom it is intended.

How can I see what languages a station broadcasts?

Where language information is available, it is listed at the end of the station summary.

    What site improvements are envisioned?

    Our desire is to provide:
    • A map of stations based on a location and one or more languages
    • Filtering stations by language
    • Overlapping stations on country maps
    • Listener reports for particular stations
    • An automated method for periodically updating station information

I've identified the best stations for my target area; where do I get radios?

Several ministries provide durable, fixed-tune radios that may be set to one or more stations. Some models include an audio player for recorded Scripture, testimonies, Bible teaching, testimonies, Bible storying, etc. Consider: Let us know if there are others that should be on this list.
