We had no idea what we were getting into when we started making SeedPlayers. And how they might go beyond the blind.

You may remember, from our February letter, our work with a Ukrainian couple who own a lavender farm in Oregon, to send 100 SeedPlayers with testimonies to their native land, shortly before the outbreak of war. And the extra SeedPlayer we were able to give to a somber young Ukrainian at a phone store.

Fast forward five months to the endless grind of a terrible war, now starting to be overshadowed in the U.S. by other momentous events.

But our Lord is ever on the move! One of those devices was seen by B, the fellow below on the left.

He recently contacted us with an idea. B told us that on the battlefield in Ukraine there is seldom just a single trench. Instead there are typically three or four trenches, with active combat from the first, while soldiers in the others are just waiting to rotate forward. Electrical power and batteries are hard to come by. Cellphones are usually prohibited, as the signals can be tracked to direct artillery fire. So the soldiers do a lot of bored waiting, along with thinking about life and death.

So, perhaps an inexpensive, compact, long-playing Gospel audio device, solar-powered, with no wireless signal, 3D-printed in an inconspicuous military color might be helpful?

There is likely an additional opportunity with many thousands of soldiers recovering in hospitals.

X, on the right, lost his leg in the previous 2014 invasion, He is now a chaplain, wants to help find the right Ukrainian content, and will likely head up the actual distribution.

We've committed to sending a trial run of 100 SeedPlayers from our limited stock as soon as possible. Lord willing, in a month or two, we will have parts for many more of a new model that will allow an entire "bookcase" of material -- enough to occupy, challenge, encourage, and comfort lonely, fearful, bored soldiers for many long days.

Please pray for protection for B (more than 20 missiles struck his city two nights ago) and X. Pray for the right content mix and quick permission to use it, rapid receipt of needed parts, good logistics to Ukraine, efficient distribution, and a fruitful harvest.
